As we got to know each other as group mates on this project, and the work that we wanted to create, our initial concept for this short film formed. It began as a simple idea, where did the hair ties we use to tie up our long hair go when we lose them? From this, we began the story of Loosen Up! , which takes places during the 1980s, where trends moved towards including hair ties.
As the character designer, I wanted to portray the decade within how my character was depicted, with notice to the long hairstyles of that era. So, I looked up references of popular 80s models and fashion trends and designed from there
